Product Tip

Every year, we recommend that our staff, clients, and associates go to the annual Pacific Coast Builders Association Conference (PCBC) in San Francisco. Attending the Expo is a great way to keep up with the latest products and trends.

PCBC is the largest regional builders' show in the nation, with attendance of nearly 30,000. Held annually, PCBC features an extensive display of product innovations from more than 600 of the industry's leading manufacturers and suppliers and a four-day educational conference with more than 60 keynote speakers, seminars, and workshops, in fields ranging from business strategies to marketing to product design to applied technology. PCBC 2008 will be held June 24-27 at the Moscone Center. For more information visit www.pcbc.com, or call 800-956-SHOW.

Free Energy Education
Offered by PG&E

Many don't know about PG&E's extensive training program for contractors, builders, energy consultants, architects, engineers, code officials, and others as indicated by the "Quick Reference Guide" attached. ALL of these classes are offered for free!

Art Childers, Lead Inspector/Consultant at MFC, took the Basics of Photovoltaic Systems for Grid-Tied Applications course and found it immensely beneficial. He learned in 8 hours what it had taken him 6 months to gather on his own.

The classes provide instruction, discussion, and hands-on training.

    * The latest heating, ventilation, and
          air-conditioning (HVAC) technology

    * Proper use, installation, maintenance,
          and the features and benefits of
          energy-efficient windows, insulation
          materials and HVAC systems

    * Evaluation and measurement
          techniques to support potential
          energy efficiency projects for
          commercial and industrial facilities

    * Support for completion of incentive
          program applications

Courses also focus on:

    * "Systems approach" to helping
          customers save energy

    * The contrasts between the current and
          the most advanced residential and
          non-residential building and
          operating technologies

    * Exchange of ideas by networking with
          others in your field

Unsure of which class to take? Check the Quick Reference Guide. The main Energy Training Center is in Stockton, but there are also classes in San Jose and San Francisco as well as other Bay Area sites.

Also good to know, is that PG&E has a Tool Lending Library which MFC has also taken advantage of. What a great resource!
